Jesse S. McDougall

Director of Technology, Owner

Jesse’s love for the internet was sparked over a decade ago when he discovered that his fellow classmates at Emerson College would pay for his web design services with pizza and movie tickets. Many years (and many pounds) later, Jesse is still building and marketing sites for wonderful businesses and organizations. Sadly, the economic realities of adulthood have forced him to stop accepting double-deep-dish as payment.

Jesse’s web marketing campaigns have been covered by Publisher’s Weekly, Book Business Magazine, Publishing Trends, Vermont’s Seven Days weekly, and the Independent Book Publisher’s Association. He has had the honor of speaking about web marketing at several conferences around the country, including O’Reilly’s Tools of Change Conference in 2009 & 2010, Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility’s Annual Conferences in 2008 & 2009, Book Business Magazine’s Digital Content Day, and PubWest’s 2009 Annual Conference.

Jesse is the author of several books about internet “venturing” including Expand Your Business Using eBay, and Start Your Own Blogging Business. He enjoys writing, and looks forward to future projects.

Caroline Wheeler

Creative Director, Owner

Caroline—or “Cally” as the known universe calls her— is Catalyst’s resident designer and creative guru. Her study of English and Fine Arts at Amherst College first led her to graphic design, and then to design for the web. Before launching Catalyst with Jesse, she worked for the landscape architecture studio Terrigenous, where her shared duties included driving the dump truck and print design. She currently shares her time at Heron Graphic Arts, where she designs for a variety of print and web projects.

Her fine art portfolio will be ready for public scrutiny sometime in the next 10 years. Please mark your calendars.

chickenvideoI made this video a little over a year ago with help from two friends of mine—one luckier than the other. At the time I thought that the Catalyst Webworks web site was just a few weeks away...*cough*...and that this video would be a great element for the front page.
